Mystery emails: extra, no package, unknown, emails

Customers keep getting package emails even though we haven’t logged them any packages.
We are calling this the Mystery Email problem. 
 We know what the problem is but have not yet been able to identify the root cause.  The good news is that we know how to fix it.

Is it possible to add multiple email addresses to one box?
I know it is possible to add multiple names under the joint account holder.

Add multiple emails for a single customer

The MDD system will send to as many email addresses as are entered in the email field.
To do this go to the customer’s “account Info” section by clicking the button on the “store admin area” page.  Once there, add additional email addresses in the following format:
Emailone@whatever.com,EmailTwo@whatever.com, etc

If your customer would like to receive a text message instead of an email, or in addition to an email here is how to do it:
First, Ask the package recipient their cell/mobile number AND their provider name (Verizon,AT&T, Sprint, etc)

How do we tell them about MDD?

they are in the system for the first time (note the text in ALL CAPS

how to Send emails from outlook express

When clicking the “send Email” button, MDD will bring up your default email application.  If you have not set one up it will bring up outlook express.  You will need to set that up to send “regular” emails.  You do not need to do anything to have MDD send “package” emails.
